Enter the zero stress zone! Fill your senses with the arrival of pure bliss. Learn how to slow your central nervous system to enable a "re-wiring of the circuitry" whereby neural pathways are created in brain that allow the stress reflex to come down from it's "high alert" mode. Stress triggers the same response in the body over and over again depending on various stimulants, and it presents as the same sceneraio regardless of the situation: the adrenal glands releasing cortisol. When this scenerio becomes the primary "go to" function the brain has created a pattern for, we run the risk of over use of the adrenal glands, and running too much cortisol through the body. In this workshop you will learn how to reverse this scenario. How to develop a different response to stress, and alleviate the pressure put on the adrenal glands. There are many other kinds of other stress conditions and physiological responses that occur in the body, and Yoga Nidra addresses all of these in a comfortable, non threatening, and easy to follow guiding format. You will not have to "do" anything in this workshop. It is all about "Un-doing".

Working through beginner level yoga postures, couples will learn to communicate effectively, trust one another, and compromise throughout the workshop. In cultivating these tools for healthy relationships, we not only build stronger emotional bonds with each other, but a deeper understanding of ourselves as individuals. We also begin to notice patterns emerge. Is it more comfortable to be the one surrendering, or the one leading? Is it difficult to tell my partner what I need, or does it come naturally? These are just some of the questions that may come up during a partner yoga class. Although there is no specific dialogue or talk therapy, most couples will emerge with a far greater understanding of how their relationship works, and how it can work even better!
Yoga nidra is yoga without movement. It focuses on breathing, meditation and concentration. Yoga nidra relaxes the body and, through meditation, relaxes the mind. It allows you to completely unwind and get in touch with your inner self. The benefits of yoga nidra may include:
1. Improves the quality of sleep and provides deep relaxation at all levels -- physical, mental and emotional.
2. Boosts memory and improves learning abilities as well as deepening concentration and retention of knowledge.
3. Relieves stress and increases overall well-being.
Yoga nidra is an ancient practice that is also referred to as yogic sleep or sleep with awareness, according to the Yoga Journal website. The goal of yoga nidra is full body relaxation and a deep meditative state that addresses physiological, neurological and subconscious needs. Techniques include guided imagery and body scanning.
